Adam Pine OAM - Chairperson(Commencement 2008)Olympic and world champion swimmer, Adam Pine has the prestigious honour of being the most capped representative in the Australian swimming teams’ history, representing Australia in over 45 international competitions, including five World Championships, three Olympics, four Commonwealth Games. In 2001, Adam was honoured with receiving an Order of Australia award for his service to sport as a gold medalist at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. At the Melbourne Commonwealth Games in 2006, Adam had the special honour of reading the athlete's oath. Adam is currently the Sports Development Manager at Swimming Australia and an active member of the Canberra Community. |

Peter McGrath - Deputy Chairperson(Commencement 2008)Peter is the Executive Director of Griffin Legal and holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University. Professionally, Peter brings to the Foundation a wealth of experience in planning, property law and has extensive experience in corporate law relating to governance. He also has a wealth of experience in sport both as a player and as an administrator. Peter’s sports law experience includes acting for a number of sporting bodies including government agencies, and National and State Sporting Associations. Sue Marriage - CEO(Commencement 2011)Sue Marriage has been the CEO of the Physical Activity Foundation since August 2010 and was recently appointed to the board of the Foundation. Prior to this role, Sue had a local and state government level career spanning over 20 years’ in which she oversaw the development and management of sport and recreation programs and facilities. This experience culminated in her holding the role of Director of Sport and Recreation within the ACT government for a decade. Sue is an adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Canberra National Institute of Sports Studies (UCNISS) teaching the topics of Governance and Sport and Industrial Relations in Sport. She holds qualifications in Recreation Administration and Criminology. Sue is currently a member of the Australian Institute of Management (MAIM), Australian Institute of Company Directors, Australia and New Zealand Society of Criminology (ANZSOC) and the Australia and New Zealand Association for Leisure Studies (ANZALS). |

Carrie Graf(Commencement 2008)Carrie Graf is a renowned Canberra sporting figure who is both Head Coach of the Canberra Capitals and the Australian Women’s Basketball team, the Opals. As head coach of the Canberra Capitals, Carrie provides an excellent role model for primary aged school children, especially primary school girls. Carrie has a sound knowledge of ACT club sport and a genuine passion for raising awareness on childhood inactivity and obesity |

Tim Gavel(Commencement 2008)Tim Gavel is a host for ABC Radio Canberra, and has been involved in sports journalism in various capacities in the Canberra area for over 20 years. Due to his apparent ability to work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, Tim has been nicknamed ‘Tireless’. He somehow also finds time in his busy schedule to jog and cycle, and has even been known to compete in the occasional half marathon. As well as being a member of the Children's Physical Activity Foundation Board, he is also patron of the Walking School Bus program and an ambassador for the Heart Foundation. Tim's work has been recognised by the local Canberra community through the National Australia Day Council's Australian of the Year Awards. In 2009 he was a finalist of the ACT Local Hero of the Year award. Tim provides the Children's Physical Activity Foundation with professional public relations and marketing expertise that is invaluable in generating sponsorship and building brand profile. |
Warren McDonald(Commencement 2011)Dr Warren McDonald is a sport and exercise physician in private practice in Deakin. He worked as a sports physician at the Australian Institute of Sport from 1990-2000, and was a doctor with the Australian Olympic team at the 1996 Atlanta and 2000 Sydney Olympics. He is currently the team doctor for the Australian Wallabies Rugby team and was Chief Medical Officer of Australian Rugby Union in 2010. In 2009 ACT Rugby Union awarded Warren the Gary Quinlivan Service Award after 11 years as the CA Brumbies rugby team doctor. He also served as match day doctor for the Prime Minister’s XI matches from 2008-2011. Warren is an Adjunct Associate Professor in Sports Medicine, School of Health Sciences at the University of Canberra and has authored and co-authored numerous publications on a variety of sport and exercise medicine topics. He has a keen interest in teaching and promoting physical activity to children in the Australian Capital Territory. He was appointed a Director of the Physical Activity Foundation in December 2010. |

Trish Wilks(Commencement 2008)Trish Wilks is Director of Curriculum Support and Professional Learning, ACT Department of Education and Training (B.A. Dip Ed. T.C. ALAA M Ed). Trish has been a member of the Department as a classroom mathematics teacher, teacher librarian, Executive Officer Library Services and Deputy Principal. She also has over 13 years experience as a school Principal at Miles Franklin Primary and Telopea Park Schools. In her current role, Trish oversees the Curriculum Support and Professional Learning Directorate, which includes the Literacy and Numeracy section. |
